KABUL — Thirty-three Taliban militants were killed and 17 others wounded in Afghan Air Force (AAF) airstrikes in two provinces on Friday, the country’s Defense Ministry confirmed on Saturday.

In northern Jawzjan province, 19 militants were killed and 15 wounded after warplanes targeted militants’ hideouts in Murghab and Hassan Tabbin villages on the outskirts of provincial capital Shiberghan, the ministry said in a statement.

NEW DELHI — Eight people were killed after two cars collided head-on with each other in the southern Indian state of Telangana, police said Saturday.

The accident took place Friday late evening near the Chennaram gate in Nagarkurnool district, about 120 km south of Hyderabad, the capital city of Telangana.
