BEIJING, June 24 (Xinhua) — Wuhan Yangtze River head coach Li Jinyu complained about the insufficient time for his players to recover.
The Wuhan side have played their first five Chinese Super League games this season in 16 days from June 4 to 20 in a frantic way which Li found his players hard to cope with.
“The players even don’t have enough time to rest, how can you expect them to take extra training? Whatever extra training does not help now,” Li said on Friday’s pre-match press conference.
The Wuhan side are to face Shanghai Port on Saturday.
Before Li, Shandong Taishan head coach Hao Wei voiced his concern that the congested Chinese Super League schedule is taking a toll on players.
Playing too many matches in a short period has left the players overstretched and prone to injuries, Hao said. Enditem
