BRATISLAVA, July 23 (Xinhua) — Slovak side Spartak Trnava settled for a goalless draw with Romania’s Sepsi OSK on Thursday in the the first-leg of the second qualifying round of UEFA European Conference League.

The visitors played a pressing game in the first half while hosts Trnava had its keeper Dominik Takac to thank as he managed to saved all seven shots on goal by the visitors.

The home team sent only a single shot on Sepsi’s goal throughout the match. Sepsi OSK was one man down in the last minutes when captain Bogdan Mitrea was sent off for his second bookable offense in the 86th minute.

The second leg will be on Sepsi’s turf next week.

“The first half was a tactical battle on both sides. The second half became more open and we had a perfect opportunity to strike but unfortunately, Kyriakos Savvidis did not end his solo across half of the pitch with a goal. In the second leg, anything will be possible,” said Trnava coach Michal Gasparik after the game. Enditem
