Singapore reports 9 new COVID-19 cases

SINGAPORE, June 28– Singapore’s Ministry of Health reported nine new COVID-19 cases on Monday, bringing the total tally to 62,553.. Four new cases are reported in the community and there are no new cases in the dormitories. There are five imported cases, who have already been placed on Stay-Home Notice or isolated upon arrival in Singapore.

SINGAPORE, June 28 (Xinhua) — Singapore’s Ministry of Health (MOH) reported nine new COVID-19 cases on Monday, bringing the total tally to 62,553.

Four new cases are reported in the community and there are no new cases in the dormitories. There are five imported cases, who have already been placed on Stay-Home Notice (SHN) or isolated upon arrival in Singapore.

Amongst the new cases, five are asymptomatic, while the four others were symptomatic.

Overall, the number of new cases in the community has decreased from 103 cases in the week before to 86 cases in the past week. The number of unlinked cases in the community has also decreased from 16 cases in the week before to 15 cases in the past week.

On Monday, 17 more cases of COVID-19 infection have been discharged from hospitals or community isolation facilities. In all, 62,212 have fully recovered from the infection and been discharged from hospitals or community care facilities.

There are currently 135 confirmed cases who are still in hospital. Of these, most are stable or improving, and three cases are in critical condition in the intensive care unit.

Meanwhile, 170 people are isolated and cared for at community facilities. These are those who have mild symptoms, or are clinically well but still test positive for COVID-19.

A total of 36 people have passed away in the country from the pandemic, showed official data. Enditem
