ISLAMABAD, March 31 (Xinhua) — Pakistani security forces killed one terrorist and injured two others in an intelligence-based operation in the country’s southwest Balochistan province, a military statement said on Friday.

Based on credible information, multiple ambushes have been laid along different routes frequented by the terrorists for the last two days in the Noshman area of the Sibi district of the province, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of the Pakistani military, said in the statement.

During the operation, a group of three terrorists was intercepted while moving toward their hideout and opened fire on the security forces.

During the ensuing heavy exchange of fire, one terrorist was killed while two others got injured, the ISPR statement said.

A cache of arms and ammunition were also recovered during the military operation, the ISPR said, adding that the terrorists were linked with the targeting of civilians in the area, besides harassment of coal mine owners.

The Pakistani army remained determined to thwart attempts at sabotaging peace, stability and progress of Balochistan province, according to the military. Enditem
