ISLAMABAD, June 28 (Xinhua) — Pakistan reported less than 1,000 new COVID-19 cases over the last 24 hours, the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) said Monday.
The NCOC, the department leading Pakistan’s campaign against the pandemic, said 914 new cases were reported and the number of the country’s overall cases climbed to 955,657, adding that there have been 901,201 people who recovered from COVID-19 so far.
According to the NCOC, a total of 20 people also lost their lives to the disease over the last 24 hours, raising the overall death toll to 22,231.

The NCOC said that 2,815,454 people have been fully vaccinated in the country so far, whereas 11,978,339 are vaccinated partially as the vaccination campaign is in swing in the country.
Asad Umar, chairman of NCOC, recently warned that the country might be hit by a fourth COVID-19 wave in July if the standard operating procedures (SOPs) were not adhered to.
“In the absence of strong SOPs enforcement and continued strong vaccination program, the fourth wave could emerge in Pakistan in July. Please adhere to SOPs and vaccinate as soon as possible,” the chairman said. Enditem
