ISLAMABAD, Nov. 26 (Xinhua) — Pakistan added 252 new COVID-19 cases over the past 24 hours, the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) said on Friday.

The country’s number of overall confirmed cases has risen to 1,283,475, according to the NCOC, the department leading Pakistan’s campaign against the pandemic.

Another seven people lost their lives over the past 24 hours in the country, taking the death toll to 28,697, the NCOC said, adding that 958 are in critical condition.

The southern Sindh province is the worst-affected region by the pandemic with 474,818 infections, followed by the eastern Punjab province which has reported 442,804 cases.

During the period, 294 patients recovered from COVID-19, bringing the total number of recoveries to 1,241,289, said the NCOC. Enditem
