BEIJING, Sept. 8 (Xinhua) — China’s Min Lulei has been appointed head coach of Beijing Royal Fighters to replace Stephon Marbury, the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) club announced on Friday.
Min, a Beijing native born in 1963, was a former player for Beijing in the CBA, before retiring in 1997. He previously coached city rivals the Beijing Ducks, twice being awarded Coach of the Year.
Last season, the Royal Fighters finished 15th in the CBA table and failed to enter the playoffs. In a statement, the club welcomed Min and expressed high hopes for the team in the upcoming CBA season. Enditem
