MACAO, Nov. 15 (Xinhua) — China’s Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) will solidly proceed with the building of the Guangdong-Macao in-depth cooperation zone in Hengqin, Zhuhai city, and better integrate into national development in the coming year, Chief Executive Ho Iat Seng said on Tuesday.
With vital progress made in 2022, Ho said when delivering the policy address for fiscal year 2023 that the Macao SAR government will work with neighboring Guangdong Province to promote the linkage of rules and mechanisms between the cooperation zone and Macao, speed up development of major industries, and deepen integration of people’s livelihood.
The Macao SAR government will work closely with Guangdong Province to orderly advance legislation in the cooperation zone, facilitate the implementation of supporting supervision and taxation policies as well as major supporting measures such as expanding market access, and building a legal system that deeply integrates with Macao in the civil and commercial areas, Ho said.
Efforts will also be made to fully leverage the special advantages of Macao in linking with the world and those of Hengqin in terms of space and talent to provide a platform for mainland enterprises to go international and for foreign businesses to come to China for more opportunities, he added.
