WARSAW, March 17 (Xinhua) — FC Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski emphasized that he is looking forward to Sunday’s game against Real Madrid but admitted that last weeks were “very difficult for him.”

Lewandowski, who suffered a hamstring strain recently, played in the match against Athletic Bilbao in previous round but his form is in big question. The Poland captain has been waiting for a goal in the domestic competition since 19th February when he found the net against Cadiz.

“I could be in better shape. I feel good but I’m aware of the fact that the last weeks were very difficult for me for many reasons. This is football, sometimes you have to deal with such hard moments,” Lewandowski told Eleven Sports on Friday.

“The team is the most important thing for me. Before joining Barcelona I knew it would be difficult to break some goalscoring records in the first season but I think just about scoring more and more,” the forward added.

Barcelona is on the course of winning the La Liga but they are already out of the Europa League after the defeat by Manchester United in the Round of 32.

“As a team and a club we are in the process of development. Maybe not everything goes perfectly but I’m sure the direction is right and that is the key factor,” Lewandowski concluded. Enditem
