TEHRAN, Jan. 10 (Xinhua) — Iranian Intelligence Ministry announced on Tuesday that its forces destroyed six teams affiliated with Israeli intelligence service Mossad, the official IRNA reported.
The ministry said the groups “intended to assassinate a military official and make sabotage attempts in some metropolitan cities across the country.”
The ministry added it had identified 23 members of the network, 13 of whom were arrested inside Iran, with their equipment seized.
“Alias Siroos, the leader of the group, was residing in a European country and directing its agents inside Iran through social media to make sabotage acts,” the ministry was quoted by IRNA as saying.
The group also intended to transfer large amounts of explosives into the country from the southern sea borders, it added. Enditem
