JAKARTA, Nov. 15 (Xinhua) — Indonesia on Monday confirmed 221 new COVID-19 cases, raising the total tally to 4,251,076, the Ministry of Health said.

The death toll from the pandemic rose by 11 to 143,670, and 706 more patients recovered, bringing the total number of recoveries to 4,098,884.

Indonesia started its mass COVID-19 vaccination drive on Jan. 13 after the authorities approved the emergency use of the CoronaVac vaccine developed by the Chinese drugmaker Sinovac.

More than 130.61 million people in the Southeast Asian country have received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, and over 84.55 million have taken their second dose.

Indonesia has so far administered over 216.36 million doses, including the third or booster jabs.

The Indonesian government aims to vaccinate 208.2 million people in the country. Enditem
