JAKARTA, July 1 (Xinhua) — Indonesia on Thursday recorded 24,836 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, the highest daily spike, bringing the total tally to 2,203,108, the Health Ministry said.

The COVID-19-related death toll added by 504 to 58,995, the ministry reported.

Additional 9,874 recovered patients were discharged from hospitals, raising the total number of recoveries from the pandemic in the Southeast Asian country to 1,890,287.

The virus has spread to all the country’s 34 provinces.

Specifically, within the past 24 hours, Jakarta recorded 7,541 new cases, West Java 6,179, Central Java 2,624, East Java 1,397 and Yogyakarta 895. Enditem
