NEW DELHI, Dec. 4 (Xinhua) — India reported 226 new COVID-19 cases on Sunday, compared to 253 tallied a day earlier, officials said.

According to health ministry data released on Sunday morning, the active caseload currently stands at 4,529 in the South Asian country.

The country also logged one more COVID-19-related death, taking the overall death toll to 530,628 since the beginning of the pandemic, showed the data.

According to the ministry, a total of 44,138,235 people have been cured and discharged from hospitals in India. Enditem
