HONG KONG, June 29 (Xinhua) — Hong Kong’s Center for Health Protection (CHP) reported one new imported case of COVID-19 on Tuesday, taking the total tally to 11,921.

The CHP has identified the source of an untraceable case reported last week, ascertaining that the 27-year-old patient contracted the virus through three imported cases found earlier. There were altogether 42 new cases over the past two weeks, including two infections related to imported cases.

Hong Kong’s vaccination program starting in late February is picking up pace as the number of daily jabs has topped 50,000 for four days in a row.

Nearly 2.18 million residents have taken at least one shot of the COVID-19 vaccine, accounting for 32 percent of eligible groups, with 1.43 million people fully vaccinated. Enditem
