CAIRO, March 22 (Xinhua) — The Egyptian Foreign Ministry on Wednesday condemned the Israeli parliament’s amendment of a law that paves the way for Jewish settlers to return to four West Bank settlements that had been dismantled in 2005.

In a statement, the ministry warned against any form of Israeli settlement activities, terming them as “illegitimate based on international laws.”

Such decisions undermine the ongoing efforts for reaching a truce between the Israeli and the Palestinian sides and incite feelings of anger and add more complications to the security and political environment in the occupied territories, it added.

On Tuesday, the Israeli Knesset voted to roll back legislation that ordered the evacuation of four northern West Bank settlements, namely Homesh, Sa-Nur, Ganim and Kadim. Enditem
