BEIJING, Jan. 6 (Xinhua) — Chinese Premier Li Keqiang and Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov on Thursday exchanged congratulations on the 30th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries.

In his message, Li said that during the past 30 years, China-Turkmenistan relations have continued to develop by leaps and bounds, the high-level exchanges between the two countries have been increasing, political mutual trust has been continuously consolidated, and cooperation in various fields has continued to deepen, making the two countries become veritable strategic partners.

Noting that the Chinese government attaches great importance to relations with Turkmenistan, Li said that he is ready to work together with Berdymukhamedov to take the 30th anniversary as an opportunity to deepen the all-round mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries and constantly push bilateral relations to new highs for the benefit of the two countries and their people.

For his part, Berdymukhamedov said that since the establishment of diplomatic relations, cooperation between the two countries has flourished on the principles of equality, mutual benefit, respect and trust.

The Turkmen side is willing to continuously deepen practical cooperation with China in various fields, and to unremittingly enrich and improve the strategic partnership between the two countries, the president said. Enditem
