GUANGZHOU, Sept. 21 (Xinhua) — A chartered flight carrying 239 students from Thailand has landed in the southern Chinese city of Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, for the new semester.

Flight TG8122, which landed at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport on Tuesday afternoon, is one of the first chartered flights bringing foreign students to China after the country relaxed its entry policies for business personnel and students in late August.

After quarantine and health monitoring, the foreign students will go to dozens of universities across China to resume or start their studies.

With China’s adjustment in flight circuit-breaker measures and visa policies, Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport is seeing a rise in passengers on international flights. Since September, the airport has registered around 70,000 inbound and outbound passengers, up about 35 percent from the same period last year. Enditem
