SARAJEVO, July 15 (Xinhua) — Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) walked away with five medals at the 63rd International Mathematical Olympiad in the Norwegian city of Oslo, a historic feat for the country, the official news agency FENA reported Friday.

At this year’s event, BiH team won three silvers and two bronzes and ranked 36th of 104 teams from all over the world, the best ranking in the last 20 years.

“We congratulate the Association of Mathematicians of the Sarajevo Canton for their dedicated work on the way to this success. It is a privilege to support them,” said Minister of Education of the Sarajevo Canton Naida Hota-Muminovic.

In past competitions since 1993, the BiH team won a total of six silver medals. Enditem
