Airstrikes kill 20 militants in Afghanistan’s eastern Kunar province

ASADABAD, Afghanistan, July 23– A total of 20 militants were killed as fighting planes struck Taliban militants’ hideouts and positions in Ghazi Abad district of Afghanistan’s eastern Kunar province over the past 24 hours, an army statement said Friday. Eight more militants were injured in the air raids over the period, the statement added.

ASADABAD, Afghanistan, July 23 (Xinhua) — A total of 20 militants were killed as fighting planes struck Taliban militants’ hideouts and positions in Ghazi Abad district of Afghanistan’s eastern Kunar province over the past 24 hours, an army statement said Friday.

Eight more militants were injured in the air raids over the period, the statement added.

The statement said that security and defense forces would continue to target insurgents elsewhere in the country.

Air raids have also killed six militants and injured four others in Chamtal district of the northern Balkh province on Thursday.

Taliban militants, who have intensified activities since the start of the U.S.-led forces withdrawal from Afghanistan early May, have not made a comment yet. Enditem
