KABUL, March 14 (Xinhua) — Afghan police have discovered a weapon cache from Afghanistan’s capital Kabul, local police said on Tuesday.

The arms depot was unearthed from a house in Police District (PD) 3 of Kabul city on Monday evening. The policemen found a variety of arms and ammunition including three machine guns, 12 Kalashnikovs, one rocket-propelled grenade, thousands of bullets, cartridges and other military equipment, according to PD 3 chief Hajji Shir Ali Jandullah.

The official didn’t say if anyone had been arrested.

In similar operations on Sunday, police also seized huge quantities of arms and ammunition including 120 pieces of hand grenades and thousands of bullets in Afghanistan’s northern Kunduz province. Enditem
