8 people killed in road accident in W. Algeria

ALGIERS, July 21– Eight people were killed and several others were injured on Thursday in a road accident in western Algeria. According to a statement of the Algerian civil protection authority, the accident occurred when a bus collided with a car in the western province of Sidi bel Abbes, claiming the lives of eight people, in addition to several injuries.

According to a statement of the Algerian civil protection authority, the accident occurred when a bus collided with a car in the western province of Sidi bel Abbes, claiming the lives of eight people, in addition to several injuries.

The bodies of the victims were transferred to a hospital morgue, while the injured passengers received first aid on the spot before being evacuated to the hospital.

An earlier study found that 90.64 percent of Algerian traffic accidents were caused by the human factor, in particular a lack of respect for traffic law. Other factors include the poor state of roads and cars, as well as environmental reasons. Enditem
