TEHRAN, Nov. 18 (Xinhua) — Three suspects in connection with the deadly attack in Iran’s southwestern city of Izeh on Wednesday have been arrested, said Iranian Vice President for Economic Affairs Mohsen Rezaei on Friday.

The suspects were seized while trying to escape the country through the northwestern Maku border, Rezaei was quoted by the semi-official Tasnim news agency as saying during the victims’ funeral in Izeh.

The attack, which took place at 17:30 local time (1400 GMT) on Wednesday in Izeh’s central market, were carried out by motorcycle-riding armed assailants, who opened fire on civilians as well as police and security forces.

Seven people were killed in the attack, and no group has yet claimed responsibility for it. Enditem
