BEIJING, March 6 (Xinhua) — Chinese stocks closed lower on Monday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.19 percent to 3,322.03 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.08 percent lower at 11,842.88 points.

The combined turnover of stocks covered by the two indices stood at 950.9 billion yuan (about 137.9 billion U.S. dollars), up from 869.5 billion yuan on the previous trading day.

Shares related to hotel and catering, 6G and tourism led the gains, while those related to education and coal mining and processing were among the biggest losers.

The ChiNext Index, tracking China’s Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, gained 0.38 percent to close at 2,431.56 points on Monday. Enditem
