BEIJING, Sept. 16– Chinese stocks closed lower on Friday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 2.3 percent to 3,126.4 points. Turnover of stocks covered by the two indices stood at 799.3 billion yuan, down from 919.1 billion yuan on the previous trading day. Anyuan Coal Industry Group Co., Ltd. lost 9.68 percent to close at 3.36 yuan per share.
BEIJING, Sept. 16 (Xinhua) — Chinese stocks closed lower on Friday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 2.3 percent to 3,126.4 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed 2.3 percent lower at 11,261.5 points.
Turnover of stocks covered by the two indices stood at 799.3 billion yuan (about 115 billion U.S. dollars), down from 919.1 billion yuan on the previous trading day.
Shares in the sectors of coal and cement suffered major losses. Anyuan Coal Industry Group Co., Ltd. lost 9.68 percent to close at 3.36 yuan per share.
