DALIAN, China, Sept. 3 (Xinhua) — Salomon Rondon contributed one goal and two assists as Dalian Pro crushed Henan Jianye 4-0 in the ninth round of the Chinese Super League here on Thursday, while Jiangsu Suning beat Shangdong Luneng 1-0.

Before the game, Dalian ranked seventh with six points in the eight-team division, while Henan, also on six points, sat at the bottom by virtue of their inferior goal difference.

In the second minute after kick-off, Rondon scored the opener with his left foot. Rondon extended the lead for Dalian in the 29th minute, as he assisted Marek Hamsik to slot home.

In the 48th minute, the Venezuelan striker assisted Swedish winger Sam Larsson to stretch the lead for Dalian.

In the 65th minute, Dalian’s Ke Zhao added a goal of his own and sealed the 4-0 victory.

With this result, Dalian are sixth in Group A with nine points, while Henan with six points remained in last place.

Also on Thursday, former Italian international Eder scored the winner to help Jiangsu Suning beat Shangdong Luneng 1-0.

The 33-year-old striker, who came on after the interval, latched onto a through pass from teammate Wu Xi before sending it into the net in the 65th minute.

Luneng, who lost to Dalian Pro 1-0 in the last round, hit the woodwork twice during the game against Suning. Enditem
