Following a night of alleged heavy shooting, 6 bodies of suspected illegal miners (Zama zamas) laid scattered in and around the Bosmont area on Wednesday morning. 14/20: South Africa – Cape Town – 13 September 2022 – Minister Anton Bredell visited Stony Point Nature Reserve, outside Bettys Bay, on Tuesday the 13th of September. The visit highlighted the important contribution CapeNature makes to eco-tourism in the Western Cape as part of its conservation mandate. Minister Bredell also highlighted Access Week, from the 20th to the 27th of September, when CapeNatures reserves can be visited free of charge. September also marks Heritage Month in South Africa and Stony Point is situated on the site of the historic Waaygat Whaling Station. Today it is home to a colony of the endangered African penguin. 15/20: South Africa – Cape Town – 11 September 2022 – Standalones – Laura Noble dance in the canola fields near Malmesbury. Canola produces small yellow flowers, making a vibrant magical scene. The Canola fields in the Western Cape offers a picturesque landscape during the months of August to September as the farmlands become a patchwork of bright yellow flowers. 16/20: South Africa – Cape Town – 10 September 2022 – Referred to in China as zhongqiuji the Mid-Autumn Festival is one of the largest festivals in Mainland China and East Asia which was celebrated at the Cape Town City Hall. This festival began as a celebration of the moon and has a tradition of deity, but it is also a time to reconnect with family members. It runs on public roads, sharing space with trucks and regular traffic, and passes through multiple small towns. The 2022 route from Johannesburg to Cape Town will include five provinces and 18 towns. New towns include Brakpan, Trompsburg, Willowmore, Kirkwood, Jeffreys Bay, Riversdale and Caledon. The event is also bringing new local and international teams including those competing for the first time in South Africa and in international solar challenge.
