Organisers of KaJive Season 5 have said all is set for the semi final battle, set to take place at Glalle Gardens in Lilongwe on Sunday.
On Saturday, 10 dance groups from the Southern Region booked their place in the semi-finals of KaJive Season 5 Elimination Round.
The groups are African Dance Machines, For Kings Only, Lunchenza ABC, Fearless Dancers, Team Ice, Jay Tronics, Team KCS, The Invisible Crew, Four Lions Dance and The Gap Connection.
The 10 crews had to beat five other groups at Times Entertainment Studios in Blantyre, at an event that was lit up with performances from emerging artists Esther and Spyral.
And it is the turn of Lilongwe, where 15 groups or individual dancers from the Central Region and the Northern Region will strut their stuff in front of three judges, who will be tasked to choose 10 groups that will go to the next stage.
“Everything is set for the event. Preparations for the KaJive event that will take place in Lilongwe are on course.
“We expect stiff competition and, at the end of the day, we expect 10 groups to make it to the semi-final. As you might be aware, 10 groups from the Southern Region as well as Eastern Region booked their place in the semi-final last week and this is the turn of others in the capital,” said Alfred Kanjere, Times Group Marketing Manager [Electronic Media].
He said they anticipate a good audience at Glalle Gardens, which is close to Bingu National Stadium.
Kanjere said youths are, through the competition, showcasing their talent and showing the world that dreams can come true through dancing.
“We are also happy that our sponsors have found it worthwhile to support dancers. Malawi is endowed with talent and all we need is to harness it.
“Let me take this opportunity to invite those who may be interested in sponsoring KaJive. We are still looking for more sponsors to work with,” Kanjere said.
KaJive Season 5 is currently sponsored by Central East African Railways, Business Computer Services and Malawi Posts Corporation through Post Courier and Post Coach.
