Stakeholders in the fight against human trafficking in Phalombe have bemoaned that lack of resources is derailing their efforts in addressing the vice.

According to River of life- Tigwirane Manja Project coordinator Richard Muluzi, late reaction to tips, lack of coordination, and knowledge to the community on how to track down traffickers are some of the problems that are rocking the fight.

This was been revealed during a meeting on human trafficking which was held with financial support from USAID through Globe Hope Mobilisation (GLOHOMO)

“We don’t have many cases but rather most of the people who are being caught in the due cause of being trafficked are from neighboring districts of Zomba Mulanje and Chiradzulu “, Muluzi said.

District coordinator for the Center for Social Concern Henry Nandolo has since asked government to expedite the process of installing chartered routes so these people would be captured.
