Mulanje-based Southern Region Football Association Thumbs Up Premier Division side Fomo FC is continuing with camping in preparation for the do-or-die return leg semi-final match against Nyasa Big Bullets Reserve.

The two teams meet again at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre on Sunday to determine who meets Bangwe All Stars in the final.

Bullets Reserve go into the match, having won the first leg 1-0 courtesy of Franklin Titani Junior’s second half goal.

Fomo General Secretary Kaziputa Butawo said they started camping on Tuesday ahead of the first match.

“We are not breaking camp after the first match. We want total concentration from the players. Bullets Reserve have beaten us by one goal and it’s possible for us to hit back and turn the tables. Our opponents have only won in the first half and we still have the second half to go,” Butawo said.

Bullets Reserve Coach Enos Chatama described the match as tough, especially in the first half.

“It was not easy in the first half and we only started to create chances in the second half. We could have scored several goals if we were more clinical in our finishing. But all in all, we should be satisfied with the goal we have scored,” Chatama said.

He said they will go flat out in the return match to consolidate their win.

“We are going to disregard the result of this match. We are treating it as if it has ended goalless. We will therefore play beautiful football on Sunday and push for as many goals as we can. We will not be complacent because results can easily change if we are not careful,” Chatama said.

Fomo Vice Coach John Majiga said the result is not that bad.

“We accept the result. It was a tough match. But we still have time to turn things around. We saw for ourselves where things went wrong for Bullets Reserve to beat us. There is enough time for us to come up with a winning formula,” Majiga said.

The winner of the final will earn automatic TNM Super League qualification.

Bullets Reserve won the title last season after beating Sable Farming 3-1 but surrendered their slot to the farmers as their main team is already in the elite league.

However, Sable failed to stand the heat and got relegated in their maiden season.
