Homeland Security Minister Richard Chimwendo Banda has challenged Malawi Police Service (MPS) agents to corner drug dealers and arrest suspects involved in distributing and selling dangerous drugs in the country.
He said this when he paid a surprise visit to law enforcers at Central West Division Police Headquarters in Lilongwe.
“I will not hesitate to deport foreign nationals who are ‘contaminating’ the country with dangerous drugs to protect the youth from drug abuse,” Chimwendo Banda said
He further asked MPS officers not to indulge in malpractices such as corruption and drunkenness.
Central West Division Commissioner of Police Peter Chasweka said they were committed to stemming cases of crime in the country.
