Kamuzu University of Health Sciences Complex in Blantyre was eventful on Saturday when artists treated people to fine performances spicing up the Malawi Liverpool Wellcome Research Programme (MLW) 25 years of conducting research and training a generation of researchers and leaders in the country.
With MLW lining up several activities in its Silver Jubilee celebration under the theme ‘Research Driving Health’, the creative side was not left out as it plays a vital role in offering entertainment.
Artists gave out their best during the show that went all the way to the evening.
Some of the acts that performed on the day included Lulu, who travelled all the way from Lilongwe with Mathumela Band.
“To be among the list of performers at such a concert is great. I would like to thank MLW for adding music and art in general in their setup. This just shows that they value art as an important tool in awareness in their programmes,” the musician and producer said.
Lulu also took advantage of the concert to announce that he will be launching his album One More Time at Lilongwe Golf Club on October 23 2022 to be spiced up by several artists including Tanzania’s Diamond Platnumz.
Coordinator of the concert John Ndaferankhande, better known as John Fire, who also works for MLW and performed, described the event as a success.
“We could not skip music in the celebrations and it has been great to perform and also enjoy all the other performances,” John Fire said.
Eli Njuchi also sparked on the day with his performance that ended on a high with the track ‘Gugugu’.
Piksy closed the curtain and he too delivered and did not skip the track ‘Anana’ on his menu.
The other performers were Agorosso and Edgar ndi Davis Band.
