TNM Super League champions FCB Nyasa Bullets moved two points clear at the summit of the log table following their 4-0 victory over Red Lions at Kamuzu Stadium Sunday.

In Lilongwe, Silver Strikers also run riot as they thrashed rookies Bangwe All Stars 4-1 to go second on the log table, displacing Mighty Mukuru Wanderers, who suffered their first defeat of the season after suffering a 1-0 loss to Chitipa United at Kamuzu Stadium on Saturday.

Following the win, Bullets maintained their grip at the summit of the log table with 17 points from seven matches, two points above Silver. Wanderers are third on the log table with 14 points from the same number of matches.

For the Lions, it was their fifth defeat of the season in seven matches.

The Zomba-based soldiers lost by a similar margin to Silver.

Lions are stuck in the relegation zone on position 15 with four points from seven matches.

In a post-match reaction, Bullets Coach Kalisto Pasuwa said despite the win, his charges missed several chances.

“We created several chances and we could have won the match with a huge margin but we missed more chances,” Pasuwa, whose side is traveling to the Northern Region for a match against Chitipa at Karonga Ground, said.

Lions Coach Mike Kumanga was not readily available for a comment.

At BNS, Stain Davie scored his first hat-trick of the season against Bangwe, with Patrick Macheso scoring the other goal.

Chikumbutso Salima netted the consolation for Bangwe, who suffered their third consecutive defeat of the season.

Silver Coach Pieter de Jongh said the players played well.

“It was a good game. It is good that we won the match. We are on the right track,” he said.

Bangwe Team Manager Steve Madeira conceded defeat.

“The best team won the match. The loss is now water under the bridge; we will focus on the next match against Red Lions,” Madeira said
