On Saturday Archbishop Tebogo Nsakwa had over 16 000 people watching live on The Voice Facebook page eating out the palm of his hands as they performed rituals at the popular Tobane’ s haunted house.

Clad in purple and blue capes, a team of young men apparently full of the Holy Spirit glided into the yard and proceeded to make markings on the ground.
With a jerry can and a match box in hand, the team criss-crossed the yard, marking and setting it on fire.
All this was done in a synchronized fashion and with such gusto. In a minute, a dark smoke engulfed the yard, as the spirit possessed young men rummaged through the two bedroomed house, and desecrated the mud hut. This was an opening scene to an exorcism carried out by Ocean of God Church in Tobane.
ENTRANCED: Prophets with one of the objects

In February this year, The Voice Covered a story of a 11-year-old boy who was being tormented by an alleged thokolosi (Thokolosi on the loose, February 26th).
In that interview the boy’s grandmother Mmakala Modise narrated how the creature had been smashing windows, setting off mysterious fires and pinching his grandson.
All attempts to get to the bottom of this were futile as traditional doctors, prophets and pastors only seemed to infuriate the creature. Village grapevine has it that one of the pastors had to flee as the short tempered thokoloshi unleashed its fury.
However Nsakwa and his troops came to fight fire with fire in an eventful live performance that has already reached over 1 million people on The Voice Facebook page.
Wearing an animal print suit, Nsakwa watched from a distance as his team of young prophets tore the yard apart, digging holes, setting multiple fires and executing dramatic somersaults midair.
STRANGE: A beaded object clad in hyena hide
Led by the young Prophet, Thabo Mothajwa, clad in all black Nsakwa’s men captured viewers and onlookers’ imagination as they seem to be chasing an invisible creature.
“This is just an act,” was one comment from a viewer as Mothajwa walked on all-fours from the gate to one of the holes they had dug.
The running or was it chasing, at times a little bit uncoordinated continued for almost an hour as the Holy Spirit possessed Prophets allegedly backed the creature into a corner.
A meerkat like creature, a dry baboon hand, a small clay pot and an indescribable beaded object clad in what appeared to be a hyena skin were removed from the yard.
The best was however saved for last when Archbishop Nsakwa traded his ministerial cape for a Kaizer Chiefs jersey.
Banging his head repeatedly against one of the doors, the spiritual leader and his right hand man then barged through the door that strangely had been closed throughout the whole day.
Three times the Archbishop and his men were sent tumbling out of the door, as if they were being hurled by a super being, and three times they went back in. They called for more salt and milk to be splashed on the house.
A moment later an enchanted Nsakwa bolted out of the room, a python in hand. As he rolled over and over on the ground speaking gibberish, his men fought to loosen his grip on the serpent.

The python was let loose, sending multitudes who had gathered around the yard into flight.
However the wiggly serpent’s charges were no match for the spirited church members who quickly bundled it into a mealie meal sack.
For a creature that had allegedly been throwing stones, slapping people and setting off fires, it didn’t put much of a fight, not even a single slap!
Was the python the notorious Tobane thokolosi then?
“I wouldn’t want to call it that. What was revealed to us by God is that this family was battling dark forces and evil spirits. We were here to rebuke those forces,” he said.
Nsakwa said every piece of strange object they removed from the yard plays a part in the family’s torment.

“These things work together, they communicate, that is why it was important that they be removed,” said the Archbishop.
“The family can now live in peace, but what they need to do is invite God into their lives,” said Archbishop Nsakwa.
