AFREXIM Bank is launching its first AFREXIM Bank-Liberia Trade Roadshow, which seeks to empower Liberian businesses to enhance their trade across Africa.

The program is expected to bring significant benefits to Liberia’s business community and support intra and extra-African trade agenda.

The trade show will be hosted at the Ministerial Complex in Congo Town under the theme “Supporting the Intra & Extra African Trade Agenda: Ensuring the Last Mile.”

It is organized by AFREXIM Bank in collaboration with Oakwood Africa and the Ministry of Commerce and Industry in Monrovia.

The AFREXIM Bank is a multilateral trade finance institution that promotes, facilitates, and finances intra and extra-African trade. Its focus on investment is currently across Ghana, Gambia, Sierra Leone, and Nigeria, and expanding across Africa. Oakwood Africa is a key strategic partner to the Africa Export-Import Bank, along with a number of key initiatives.

The program seeks to open doors for the business community in Liberia to enhance trade with itself or between Liberia and other African countries. The roadshow will be in partnership with the National Investment Commission, Harvest Aid, and Loita, amongst others.

All businesses interested in doing trade within Africa, including the Liberia Business Association (LBA), the Liberian Chamber of Commerce, exporters in agriculture SMEs, the Liberian banking associations, macro-finance institutions, savings and loans, fact own enterprises, insurance companies, and all government trade-related institutions, are invited to attend.

According to Cynthia Bryuo, head of trade advisory, Oakwood Green, on the first day, there will be a formal session where the AFREXIM Bank will take its time to break down the initiative to participating institutions to be followed by one-on-one meetings on day two.

“The AFREXIM Bank will explain what the relationship is between what African bank is doing in the African continent free trade area.”

Jacob Parlay, Director of Communication at the Ministry of Commerce, lauds Ms. Bryuo for the opportunity brought to the Liberian business community.

According to him, it is intended to enhance and address challenges that small and medium businesses face in Liberia. Editing by Jonathan Browne
