LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Mchinji Boma Strikers and Green Rangers FC failed to register their first win of the season in the MK15.5 million Chipiku Stores Premier division as they played to a barren draw at Lilongwe community ground on Monday May 16, 2022.

The host Green Rangers FC started the game on a high note but failed to utilize the chances they created through Ebenezer MpangeniVincent Kuchete, Alfred Mzava as their efforts ended in the hands of Lyson Kavina, Mchinji Boma Strikers goalie.

The visitors, Mchinji Boma, re- organized themselves in the 40th minute and piled pressure to the host Rangers through Jack Toure, Arthur Mwavani,Jano Amadi only to lack composure in the final third as the way the hosts did.

Rodgers Kamiza blew the whistle for recess and the state of affair was at balance.Second half, the visitors started very well controlling the midfield through Dieumerci Loko,Jano Amadi and Derrick Paula but Jack Toure and Arthur Mwavani who were playing as center forwards continued wasting chances.

Alick Ungo, Mchinji captain, was booked for bad play on rangers player,at 64th minute Jack Toure had a clear chance to put Mchinji upfront but ended shooting it wide with an empty goal.

Anthony Mwalwanda,Shaily Mushanga were introduced for Daniel Atupele and Jano Amadi at 72nd minute, while Vincent Kuchete was replaced by Kelvin Phiri for the host.

The substitutes did not bring any goals for the two wounded teams who are winless this season currently occupying positions 7 and 8 in group C with 1 point and 2 points from 5 and 3 games they have played so far.

After Rodgers Kamiza ended the match,Richard Chipungu, coach for Green Rangers FC, regretted for the chances his boys missed in the first half.

He said the team played well in the first half but failed to score until their counterparts reorganized themselves in the second half.

Chipungu added the bad performance of the team is due to poor preparations for the league but vowed to recover in the next games to come.

Bright Manda for Mchinji Boma Strikers was happy with the way his boys played especially in the second half despite failing to score.

He further said the officiating team betrayed them opportunity to win the game as they denied them clear penalties.

Manda added the team is slowly taking shape and that soon the results will start coming up.

At Mchinji Community ground Villa FC played to a 1 all draw against Ngolowindo FC.

Junior Mbewe scored for the host Villa FC while Kennedy Harrison scored for Ngolowindo FC to make the Kamuzu Day holiday stalement in Chipiku Premier division league.

Villa FC are still on position 2 with 11 points from 5 games 4 behind leaders of group C Extreme FC who have 15 points.

Ngolowindo FC occupies position 5 with 5 points from 5 games.
