BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-DMI St John The Baptist University technical advisor, professor Golden Msilimba has clarified on the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) communication to the public regarding the temporary suspension of education programs at their Mangochi campus.

Msilimba emphasized that DMI university is in fully operation at Blantyre and Lilongwe campuses with all programs accredited by NCHE.

Msilimba said this during the graduation ceremony for DMI St. John Baptist the university Blantyre campus on Friday, May 6, 2022 whereby a total number of 116 students graduated in certificate in counseling and phychotherapy and HIV testing services respectively.

He further said that concerns raised by NCHE has fully been addressed through the association of private universities in Malawi.

Msilimba was optimistic that inspection will be done within this month and the temporary suspension for education programs at their mangochi campus will be lifted by June 2022.

According to Msilimba the university has recruited additional professors in education and has also revised teaching practice handbook.

Meanwhile guest of honor at the graduation Dr Rose Nyirenda who is director for department of HIV viral hepatitisis in the ministry of health lauded the university for complementing government efforts by training phychotherapy counseling personal who are currently few in the country.
