JOHANNESBURG, May 7 (ANA) – While the economy in South Africa took a substantial hit with the rise of the Covid-19 pandemic, luxury parkland Steyn City, in the heart of Johannesburg, has managed to improve its sales significantly since the beginning of 2020.

Steyn City (ranked the best residential estate in Gauteng by New World Wealth in 2019 and this year, among the top ten estates worldwide), saw its highest sales since its 2015 launch during the past year, despite spending several months under lockdown.

Steyn City’s sales remained above the curve in terms of residential sales, ahead of the suburbs, in keeping with the trend towards gated, secure living.

As for the championship golf course – The Club at Steyn City – it offers a world class experience. Golfers are treated to a course – a Nicklaus Design – in immaculate condition all year round, as well as staff that cater for every need of guests.

Despite the past decade’s tough economic outlook, a historic pandemic that is plunging many markets around the globe into recession, and a short hiatus in construction, a single glance at developments at Steyn City shows that the residence is forging ahead at pace.

As a driver of economic growth, the development has created nearly 30 000 job opportunities during the last decade for the community of Diepsloot and outlying areas. And, as more people take up residence, new job opportunities will unfold.

Giuseppe Plumari, chief executive of Steyn City Properties said: “You could almost say that Steyn City was made for the post-Covid era.

“It doesn’t matter whether you choose to live in a freestanding home, an apartment or a cluster, our signature 2 000-acre indigenous parkland gives you endless space to breathe and explore – with the added benefit of the peace of mind that accompanies security and, of course, all the facilities you need to live a healthy, rounded lifestyle.”

Steyn City announced its bold Vision 2020 during the last quarter of 2019 – little knowing that the world would be turned upside down by a pandemic just a few months later.

The pandemic has meant that many of the highlights included in Vision 2020 – such as the launch of the magnificent City Centre, 300m clearwater lagoon and world class helistop will be unveiled later this year, and prospective buyers and investors are eagerly awaiting this date.

Steyn City Properties’ upfront R10.5 billion investment in infrastructure is paying dividends as buyers can experience the lifestyle they are buying into before they invest. The developers have gone to great lengths to ensure that a wide array of world-class amenities are already in place.

Everything – from the golf course, the equestrian centre with its clubhouse, the 50km mountain bike track, indoor aquatic centre with 25m heated pool, gym, tennis courts, outdoor exercise workstations, children’s play nodes, 45km well-lit promenade for jogging and walking and the Steyn City School campus and the world-class offices at Capital Park among others – are all accessible from the time residents move in. – African News Agency (ANA), Editing by Michael Sherman
