9/11: SOUTH AFRICA – Cape Town – 16 April 2021 – From April 15th, 2021, three actors have embarked on a six-day performance art project in which they will spend 15 hours a day in glass boxes, symbolic of the caged reality of the modern human condition. Even before lockdown, on average, we spend 90% of our time indoors and now – with remote working from home – we’re even more so online and far from nature. As such, the social experiment is intended to encourage onlookers & passers-by to question their very way of life: is this the way we want to live; how important is it to break free and let nature be part of our well-being? To view the humans in their “unnatural habitat”, on of the cages has been placed at the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town. The humans will be “uncaged” on April 20th.
