3/21: South Africa – Cape Town – 18- October-2021 Isabel Roode Mia Burger Lumé Fourie and Genell Roode From Pretoria Leap for joy Dance Studios will participating in the 8th South African International Ballet Competition (SAIBC) that kicks off today (19 Oct) as a hybrid event, on the same day as WORLD BALLET DAY! The SAIBC has attracted 180 dancers this year – 70 dancers from South Africa who be onstage at Artscape and 110 from 28 other countries who are competing via pre-recorded video. Lalela Mswane crowned Miss South Africa 2021 KwaZulu-Natal’s Lalela Mswane has been crowned Miss South Africa 2021 at the glittering pageant finale held at Grand Arena, GrandWest in Cape Town.The 24-year-old – who comes from KwaSokhulu in Richards Bay – graduated with a Bachelor of Law from the University of Pretoria. She is also a model and a dancer.Mswane received R1 million in cash as well as a further R3 million worth of sponsorships and prizes, including the use of a fully furnished and serviced apartment at the luxurious Central Square Sandton, with fabulous interior décor by Vursa, and a Mercedes Benz C-Class Sedan. The Top 3 will represent South Africa at the world’s three most prestigious pageants – Miss World, Miss Universe and Miss Supranational. 14/21: South Africa – Durban – 15 October 2021 – Individuals and teams around Durban will be bravely showing off their inner Daredevil this Friday by running 5km dressed only in a purple speedo. Usually held as a mass participation event in Johannesburg every year, the Daredevil Run 2021 is a COVID-edition national event taking place around the country, with participants running 5km in a host of different locations. This event attracts thousands of brave men from all walks of life to do their part to raise awareness about male cancers. All proceeds from the annual Hollard Daredevil Run go to the Cancer Association of South Africa (CANSA) and the Prostate Cancer Foundation of South Africa towards awareness and screening of prostate and testicular cancer.
