This exhibition was sponsored in part by the National arts council (NAC) and in part Mama Africa, one of our longstanding German customers, to try to put as much funding back into the community as possible.Paula Thomson said ” We hosted a flower workshop where all beadworkers were taught to make beaded flowers and were encouraged to design their own flowers, we used all the flowers made on the workshop in a group artwork, which is simply dazzling! Beadworkers who showed potential were encouraged and assisted to design a flower necklace or accessory. Wireworkers were encouraged to come up with new wirework flower prototypes and we now have Hibiscus and St Joseph’s Lilly’s, we have also opened up the exhibition to artists in the community who have submitted flower paintings. There is also a beautiful flower wall photo booth. This exhibition will be something special and not to be missed especially if you have a love for flowers.Picture: Motshwari Mofokeng/African News Agency (ANA)
