Cape Town, 22 June (ANA) Kliprand, a small town in the Matzikama municipality with a population of 250 residents and 63 households, has become a ghost town with shops, the town’s one school and soup kitchen shut after an outbreak of Covid-19.

Kliprand, a rural town of 65 homes and 205 inhabitants, four hours drive from Cape Town on the Western and Northern Cape border, is in the unfortunate position of having the entire town in quarantine due to Covid-19 positive cases in virtually every home. The community is totally dependent on outside contributions for survival as currently there is no economic activity and virtually no one at work. Sadly, four community members, including a learner passed on.
