ANAPIX: Condition of Hostels in Soweto

Some of the hostels around Soweto have faced the same fate that they were built and completed. Would be residents did not want to pay the levies around R750. The buildings were part of the RDP projects and were abandoned. They were vandalised and stripped from all metal frames and pipes. Some of the projects became ghost towns like at Dube hostel. Residents at Jabulani and Meadowlands extended their living space by building structures with corrugated iron and appear content with that.
