OTJIWARONGO, 12 AUG (NAMPA) – A training course in nationhood and national pride development by the Namibia Institute of Public Administration and Management (NIPAM) during this year on behalf of Government, has been approved by Cabinet.

The approval was announced on Wednesday by Cabinet in a media statement shortly after the 13th Cabinet decision-making meeting which took place in Windhoek.

The decision to approve the training course and issuance of certificates in nationhood and national pride will largely benefit civil servants and other officials from the Government agencies.

The statement from Cabinet further said at the moment, the plight of Government in regard to the nationhood and national pride campaign is that it is being carried out single-handedly by the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology (MICT). The campaign’s intent is to encourage Namibians to be a proud citizen, and also on how to protect the country’s reputation and its national symbols.

“Therefore, Cabinet took note of the curriculum of NIPAM’s nationhood and national pride certificate programme, its implementation and also on its actual rollout,” it said.

Cabinet thus encourages Government ministries and agencies to enlist officials who will undergo this training course at NIPAM.

NIPAM was established by Government in 2011 to transform the public service through improving management, leadership and competencies of the public servants.
