Just yesterday, South Africans were over the moon after Uncle Waffles, K.O and Pabi Cooper were nominated for BET Awards.

A few hours later, a fierce fight erupted online after they noticed one bit of information.

Tanzania hitmaker Uncle Waffles and Sete rapper K.O were nominated in the Best International Act category at the BET Awards to be held in Los Angeles, United States, on 25 June 2023.

Pabi Cooper got recognised in the Viewers’ Choice: Best New International Act category.

For most of 9 June, South Africans celebrated the international endorsement of South African music, especially Amapiano.

After some hours, people looked closely again and realised something peculiar. Uncle Waffles was nominated and recognised as representing Swaziland, not South Africa, where she blew up.

Some got so enraged and revoked their support, while others threw their weight at her, saying she is based in South Africa, and her win is for Mzansi and Swaziland.
