Southern Africa’s regional body SADC has agreed on an “immediate technical deployment” to help Mozambique fight an Islamic State-linked insurgency. This comes after the insurgents launched a horrific attack on the coastal town of Palma in northeast Mozambique.

The resolution was reached at a SADC Double Troika Summit held today which was attended by President Emmerson Mnangagwa. Giving an update after the meeting, President Emmerson Mnangagwa said,
