Passion Java Says His Father Discovered Several Warriors Football Stars

Unorthodox man of the cloth, Prophet Passion Java of Passion Java Ministries and Kingdom Embassy church, has claimed that his late father discovered and developed several yesteryear football stars who went on to play for the Zimbabwe Warriors. According to Prophet Passion, some of the football stars discovered by his father include Norman Mapeza, Alois Bunjira, Edelbert Dinha, Lloyd Chitembwe and Stewart Murisa.

The flamboyant and social media savvy prophet made the claims when he appeared on the program The Couch on ZTN. Prophet Passion Java said that some of these players used to stay and sleepover at their house in Chitungwiza.

During the interview, the eccentric clergyman claimed that his father, Charles Java, was the co-owner of premier league side Darryn-T. He said that his father was in a partnership with Polish football coach Wiesław Grabowski. Grabowski is usually credited with developing the stars.

The prophet told The Couch,

iHarare has learned that Passion’s father, the late Charles Java held a senior management position at Cone Textiles, the company which sponsored the Darryn-T football club. He was heavily involved in the management of the team, but it remains to be established if he owned Darryn-T. Cone Textiles was founded by business tycoon Victor Cohen. Cohen who was also the founder of textile giant Waverly Blankets died in 2017.

Charles Java on the other hand died when Passion Java was in Grade 4. In a previous interview, the flamboyant prophet claimed that he had prophesied his father’s death at that tender age.

He said that he warned his father not to travel for a memorial service which was being held in Buhera because it would result in his death. However, his father disregarded the warning, only to die a horrible death a few days after returning from the memorial service.
