A few days after the iconic performance, Pretty’s career has gone through an unexpected bump.

The soprano is currently in Vienna, Austria, for a performance in Manon at the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna Operahouse). She apologised to her fans on social media for not being able to rock the stage.

It appears Pretty injured her ankle before the coronation of King Charles but put on a brave face so she could perform. She wrote:

“I’m so sorry to cancel my last performance of Manon @WrStaatsoper due to sustaining a serious injury on my 2nd performance. I was hoping I’d heal, but unfortunately, it’s the opposite. This is how I spent eve hours before the coronation performance I need to follow medical advice.”

The opera star posted a short video on Twitter and Instagram showing her being ferried to the hospital in an Ambulance and X-ray images of her leg. Because of her injury, she had to be assisted in moving in a wheelchair.

Pretty Yende’s fans and global icons, including the WHO director general, wished her well online. Check out their comments.
