The Wololo hitmaker has been performing and drinking in clubs instead of following tradition and mourning Mampintsha.

In an interview with TshisaLIVE Babes Wodumo’s sister, Nondumiso told the publication that the songstress was fulfilling an agreement she had with Mampintsha.

[Images: Facebook via Mampintsha]She said the Ngeke singer did not want his wife to follow the traditional customs when he died. Nondumiso said Mampintsha instructed Babes Wodumo not to wear mourners’ clothing or to cry after watching 1Magic’s series Lingashoni.

This is based on an agreement she had with her husband. They were watching 1 Magic’s Lingashoni series and he said, ‘Baby, when I die I don’t want to see candles and you crying sitting on the mattress or wearing inzilo [mourners clothing]. Don’t mourn for me. Honour me by living the life I know you for’

Babes Wodumo’s sister added that Mampintsha’s family was aware of the arrangement and even transported their daughter-in-law to perform.

Nondumiso added:

There are agreements that two lovers make, she knows what her husband requested. The Mapumulo family even said, ‘Our son did tell us, be free and go work’. They knew about it, that’s why the first gig she was transported by her father-in-law, that’s the New Year’s Eve gig. The in-laws were watching her on TV with pride.”

Nondumiso said contrary to what people think Babes Wodumo is grieving her husband. She said the musician is yet to come to terms with the loss of her husband and sometimes calls out his name.
