JOHANNESBURG, April 20 (ANA) – New Tanzanian club Young Africans (Yanga) coach Nasreddine Nabi on Wednesday says he aims to bring success to his side.

The former El Merrikh of Sudan coach Nabi said he will begin preparations for the new season as soon as possible.

Nabi said: “I am very happy to be here. Yanga is a big team and I believe we will write good memories together during my spell

“The remaining time to wind down the season is crucial to build the club ahead of the coming season, so that we can win trophies in the different tournaments that we will participate in.

Just a matter of weeks since Yanga coach Cedric Kaze was given the axe, the Tanzania Premier League leaders named the Tunisian tactician on an 18-month deal.

Yanga ended Kaze’s stay on ‘mutual consent’ in March after series of poor results and named Juma Mwambusi as interim coach before completing the Nabi deal on Tuesday.

Yanga general secretary Haji Mfikirwa said the club chose Nabi after a long process that saw a number of coaches applying for the job, and they believe Nabi will steer the side well.

“He is a good coach, and we came into agreement after a long chat. He will be with us on an 18-month deal, [which will be] renewable should he impress,” Mfikirwa said.

“Our club has good ambition and determined to perform well. We will give him all the support he wants to achieve the best for the club.” – African News Agency (ANA), Editing by Michael Sherman
